story

tucked in the valleys where the andes meet the amazon, peru sangareni organic the product of the 318 producers who make up cooperativa agraria sangareni. In the satipo province of junín, a region celebrated for its microclimates, coffee thrives amidst mountains and rich biodiversity.

founded in 2004 by just 32 farmers, the cooperative has grown into a strong, community-driven organization. their journey has been one of resilience—particularly after the devastating coffee rust outbreak in 2012, which wiped out 70% of their crops. through collective effort and innovation, they replanted with rust-resistant varieties and continued to improve their practices.

with a commitment to organic farming, the cooperative ensures that each bean is cultivated with respect for the land and its people. their coffee is machine-pulped, fermented, and carefully solar-dried, adapting to the region’s frequent rainfall. certified UE NOP, COR organic, UTZ, fairtrade, and C.A.F.E. practices, their work is grounded in sustainability, economic empowerment and a passion for excellence.
