story

the ethyl acetate decaf process, sometimes referred to as the "sugarcane decaf" method, involves using ethyl acetate, a solvent derived from fermented sugarcane, to remove caffeine from green coffee beans.

the ethyl acetate decaffeination process:

1. steaming and opening pores: the green coffee beans are steamed to open their pores, allowing the solvent to penetrate.

2. ethyl acetate solution: the steamed beans are then immersed in an ethyl acetate solution.

3. caffeine extraction: the caffeine molecules bond to the ethyl acetate molecules, and the solution is then drained.

4. rinsing and drying: the beans are rinsed to remove any remaining ethyl acetate and then dried.
